Tiny Revolutions began as an outlet for me to talk about my experiences dealing with depression and anxiety over the years. I’d been going through a rough patch, and then the news of Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade committing suicide within a week of each other hit me hard. I thought, how the fuck can we live in a world where two massively successful creative geniuses can kill themselves? And why is it so hard to find anyone having an honest conversation about the realities of living with, and managing, your mental health?
I decided that person might as well be me. I write these newsletters because I think there is value for other people to read about my experiences of being kind of a basket case. I’ve been dealing with depression and anxiety since I was a kid, and I’m pretty used to it, so I don’t mind talking about it — if it might help someone else feel less alone, so much the better.
